Conservation Weekend

Home >> Visit >> Conservation Weekend

One of our centre's core goals is to introduce the next generation to the importance of species conservation and - most importantly - some of the ways in which they can help!

That's why we are excited to be hosting our second annual Conservation Weekend, with a focus on our native British wildlife and the people that are dedicated to ensuring they continue to thrive.

When is it?

Our Conservation Weekend will be taking place on Saturday the 6th and Sunday the 7th of August 2022.

These are a full-day event which will run between our regular opening hours from 10:00am - 4:00pm (last admission at 3:00pm.)

What is It?

We'll be joined by a range of conservation-focused charities, organisations and individuals representing a range of species and causes (for the full list, see the section below.)

Each will have their own space on our outdoor flying arena and will be happy to answer questions and share their knowledge and experience.

Some will be offering their own talks and activities throughout the day - and we'll also be putting on a few of our own!

You can look forward to trying your hand at owl pellet dissection, building your own bug hotel, and learning about how to attract insects to your garden with a wildflower meadow.

As well as our usual flying display at 1:30pm, there will also be a variety of themed talks and demonstrations provided by our guests. The full itinerary and timings for these will be confirmed prior to the event.
